Heir to the King - Seed of Abraham

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

He wanted to have a companion to commune with that was similar to Himself, and so He formed man.

This man He called Adam. He was comprised of a body, with a soul, and spirit, a triune being.
God made him in His own image, for God is a triune being as well; Father, Word, and Spirit of God.
In order to commune with man, God would take the form of man to walk in the earth with Adam. God also made woman from the man, and Adam named her Eve. Our first ancestors. There was peace between God and man and paradise on earth.

God tenderly loved Adam and Eve and placed them in a garden that had everything they needed. This might have went on forever, for man was made to never die. Through temptation by a rebellious angel, Adam and Eve disobeyed the only rule that God had made; to not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And so they were expelled from the garden and went to live in the harsh environment of cold outside.(See my blog; Transfer of Dominion on Earth).

Mankind became evil following after Satan, and God had to send a flood to destroy them. But, He saved Noah and his family, 8 persons and all the animals of the earth to start again and replenish the earth.
That is a quick lesson in the first 1700 years of Man's history.

The sin of man had separated him from God. Now, God needed a man to make covenant with so that in the future, all the earth could be blessed from his offspring.

The man he found was called Abraham, who believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness (see my blogs on Abraham).

Through Abraham's descendants came Israel from the promise of Sarah, as well as most of the middle Eastern countries from the concubine, Hagar, with Saudi and that region from Katura, Abraham's wife after Sarah's death. Through the promised seed out of Sarah came the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Jesus, who is the Word made flesh was God in man and the 2nd person of the Godhead. Through his passion the right to be the only Salvation of God was given Him for eternity.

Jesus finished the work of Salvation for mankind that the law of God could never do. The law was delivered Moses on tables of stone containing the first 10 commandments on Mt. Sinai. The law is perfect, but man is not and could not keep it.

In Jesus' resurrection He was glorified and forever sits at the right hand of God the Father.

For all eternity any person who wants to be in union with God must accept Jesus' Spirit into their spirit.
Joh 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Joh 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

This Salvation of God is a supernatural event.

So that brings us up to where we are today. By faith in Jesus, we are the heirs of Abraham.
Ga 3:29  And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

And what was Abraham heir to?
Ro 4:13  For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

So, we see that Abraham was heir to the world, an awesome inheritance. Because of faith in Jesus, that inheritance belongs to us as well.
Ga 3:29  And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Abraham was wealthy and lived a blessed life. He fathered Isaac, the child of promise, when he waa 100 years old. Sarah his wife was 90 when they had this miracle baby; so, you see that youth renewed was also his gift. He believed God and God counted that to him as righteousness.

Fine you say, "But how can I know I am an heir? How do I claim my inheritance?"

Well, first you have to be born again.
Ro 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Then you need to realize that Jesus lives inside of you, in your spirit, which is now perfect before God.

But your body and mind are not perfect. You have to change the way you think and thus what you do with your body in order to be in line with your spirit. That does take time and effort like a child growing up.

The first revelation that you need to get down inside you is that you are forgiven, once and for all.
Heb 8:12  For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

So, one who is born again has no sin record with God. When God looks at you, He sees the blood of Jesus covering you, and sin is not there.
Ro 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus is our High Priest. The Old Testament Priest was a type (representation) of Jesus. When he went before the Ark of the Covenant to plead for the people he had to sanctify himself with blood and washings so he was right before God, who spoke from above the mercy seat. The Cherubim on the Ark represented God and they look down on the mercy seat. Inside the Ark were representations of man's sin: 10 commandments, bowl of manna, Aaron's rod. But, the High Priest would sprinkle blood on the mercy seat and the Cherubim (God) could not see through the blood. So here is a picture of Jesus' sacrifice and God's mercy because of it.

So this revelation of forgiveness will free you from the sin consciousness and allow you to walk in the Grace of God without condemnation and guilt in order to see the rest of the wonderful things that were bought for and provided to you by Jesus.
Ro 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
The flesh is trying to earn things before God, but the Spirit is accepting God's gift of righteousness.

Next you need to understand that you are now a child of God as a born again believer. You have the right to come before God and His throne because of what Jesus did. You can call God Father.
1Jo 3:1  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Heb 4:16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

As a child of the King of the Universe, you are a prince (or princess), but you are not aware of all that is yours or the authority that belongs to you.

You know that God is your Father. You know that Jesus loves you. You know that Jesus saved you.
Sometimes this is more than enough for life's problems.

As you study God's Word and learn about Him and what He has said and His will for you, you will grow and become stronger and start to fill your role as a prince and heir.

God gave Paul a wonderful revelation of His Grace and let him write about 3/4 of the New Testament. Let's look at 2 Cor 5:17-21:

17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

When we are born again, we become a brand new creation...every thing is fresh and new.

18  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

We have the ability to live under God's Grace (everything needed for life) and tell others that God is not angry with them, but loves them and wants to bless them.

20  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

We gain the very righteousness of Jesus when He moves into you. God will never be mad at you, for you are Jesus' righteousness and that is what God sees in us. We have to learn to live in that mindset.

God has reconciled the world to Himself through his beloved Son, our Savior, Jesus.

Lets go back to Abraham for a moment; Paul wrote by the Holy Spirit:
Ro 4:13  For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
14  For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
15  Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.
16  Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
17 ¶  (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

The big points here is that you can do nothing to earn this inheritance; it is a gift and must be accepted by faith. The promise is ours and must be believed to be received.

As a child of God, you are now part of His body on earth...the church.

The next part of the education and growth of the children of God as heirs to all of His promises is the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. Sadly many religions do not teach this, and many Christians do not have the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. Most are taught from traditions and believe that when they accept Jesus as their Savior, they receive the Holy Ghost. Now the Spirit of Jesus is Holy, but not the same as the Holy Ghost, the 3rd person of the triune God.

Jesus spoke on this manner to those who had been saved, for He called God their Father, and then they could receive the Holy Ghost.
Lu 11:13  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

After Jesus' resurrection, He assembled His followers and told them that the promise of the Holy Ghost was coming soon, only 50 days after the Passover, on Pentecost.
Ac 1:4  And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5  For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Jesus received the Holy Ghost when He was baptized by John and the Holy Ghost appeared as a dove.

Jesus welcomed the Holy Ghost because through Him came the Power of God upon Jesus. There are no recorded miracles before this. Jesus did not need to be born again, because He was without sin His whole life. He kept the perfect law all of His days on earth.

Jesus was born without sin, because God was His father, and Mary was a virgin. He was all man, and needed the Holy Ghost to do the miracles and His ministry here.

In Acts 2 we see that when the day of Pentecost had come after the resurrection of Jesus, the Holy Ghost came and filled all the 120 followers of Jesus. It came like fire and set on each of them. By the end of the day 3000 more were baptized in the Holy Ghost. This gift is yours as a child of God, you just need to ask and believe.

When you are baptized in the Holy Ghost, you now have Jesus' Spirit and the Holy Spirit inside of you. There is an awesome power involved and supernatural manifestations of the Spirit take place in your life as are listed in 1 Cor 12. All of this is received by faith and believing what God has promised. The ability to pray in "tongues" or your own personal prayer language is also included where you can join with the Holy Ghost in prayer with your mouth. Your mind does not understand, but you edify yourself and pray in the will of the Father, 1 Cor 14:1-5.

Jesus is known as the lamb of God because of His sacrifice and all that He bought for you at the cross. He is also the lion of the tribe of Judah for His infinite strength and power.

As heirs, you inherit authority and through Jesus, God will give you power to overcome and reign in life.
Ro 5:17  For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

You will study the Word and learn that it is sharper than a 2 edged sword. As a heir and prince you have to have that Word established in your mind.

God does not leave you without armor. The armor that Jesus wore is available to you, Eph 6.

In the darkness that is ever present in this world, you will need to learn how every piece of this armor functions. It is a spiritual battle that we face on a daily basis. You need to stand fast.

God's eyes sees all and He knows what you face in life. When your faith is at it's limit, He gives you some of His. His power and Name demands submission of evil.

Php 2:10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Of course the armor of God here is an allegory, for it is a spiritual covering; and to visualize the armor with each piece being representative of a spiritual promise, gives you something to meditate on and build your faith for battle.

As an heir you will grow to maturity and be able to take your place in the kingdom of God. You will come to the revelation that Jesus has called us to be kings and priests.
Re 1:6  And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Kings because we are to exercise our authority in Him to overcome evil in our lives and that of those we care for.

Priests because we are to minister to those around us by example and teach about the love and the Grace of Jesus.
Re 5:10  And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
2 Cor 5:18  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Jesus bears the scars of the crucifixion for all eternity as the sign of payment for what He has done for us. Thomas was unbelieving but the scars made him cry, "My Lord and my God!"

He rose from the dead and has promised us to have an eternal body similar to His glorified body.
Php 3:21  Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

He took our sickness and disease so that we could be healed.
Isa 53:5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
1Pe 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

He became poor with nothing at the cross, so that we could have His provision.
2Co 8:9  For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

God has given you angels to guard and protect you.
Ps 91:11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12  They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

God in His infinite wisdom made the new covenant in His Son, Jesus. Jesus came as the Messiah yet Judaism did not recognize Him. Yet they will in the future.
Now Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father as King of the Universe. His work is finished as he announced on the cross.

As His heirs we have the authority and power to do His will on the earth. He is so full of love for us he wants us to have life to the fullest extent and provides for us all we need with enough to bless others.
Eph 3:20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21  Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

2Co 9:8  And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work

Jesus is ever present with us and we have access through the Holy Ghost to the Father, always. He will never leave or forsake us, Heb 13:5. Take your place to what He has called you to be.

If you have read this and do not understand because you do not know Jesus, ask Him to come into you, for He stands at the door of your heart and knocks.
Re 3:20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
