Jesus Defeats Satan in the Stars

My last blog demonstrated how the LORD God has placed the 4 Seraphim in the heavens to show attributes of Jesus in the constellations of Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus.

This blog will examine the heavens to find where God has placed constellations depicting the defeat of Satan by Jesus. You see, the heavens declare the Glory of God, Ps 19:1.

God has placed the constellations in the heavens for us to know what He has planned to do about our enemy, the Devil; from the first prophetic utterance concerning the coming of the Messiah (Jesus), to the final one concerning Satan being thrown into the lake of fire to be imprisoned in torment for eternity.
Gn 3:15  I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Rev 20:10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Ophiuchus Serpens Scorpio

The first series of constellations we will examine is Ophiuchus above Scorpio. These are seen in the South in late Spring and Summer.

Ophiuchus here is the "Shepherd" from the names of the stars;
Rasalbaque- shepherd, serpent holder. This we know by scripture is Jesus, our Shepherd. He is holding back Serpens;
Unukalhai- heart of the serpent; to keep the serpent from reaching the Crown, Corona Borealis; Alphecca- gem, jewel.  This Crown is the symbol of the dominion of the earth, which Satan has been after since the Garden of Eden.

While holding back the serpent, the Shepherd is also stomping on the heart of the scorpion (Scorpio) which by stars means; Antares- wounding, Acrab- wound him that comes. The scorpion symbolizes Satan, who is stinging the Shepherd in the heel. This depicts the first prophecy by God that the seed of the woman would bruise Satan's head, while Satan would bruise His heel. This was accomplished at the Cross of Jesus Christ, and will come to it's conclusion after Jesus' return.

In my blog "The Seraphim of God Scorpio=Eagle", I explain how Scorpio became the Eagle.

Here is a portion of a star wheel that shows the constellations of this area, as well as the Polaris area where we will go next.

Hercules Draco

In the Northern sky between the Big and Little Dipper, you can find the dragon, Draco. Stomping the dragon in the head is Hercules. Here is how it looks on Stellarium.

Some of the meanings of the stars of Hercules:
Alpha RasAigethi - the head of him that bruises
Beta Kornephoros - branch kneeling, club bearer
Lamda Maasyn- the sin offering
Minor Caram - punishing, treading under foot

We can see by this that Hercules is another representative of Jesus in the stars.

Draco is the dragon and has stars that reflect that description:
Alpha Thuban - head of the serpent
Minor Etamin - the great serpent

The Greeks named the constellations after their mythology, but we can see past that to the original meanings that God placed in the stars. As Hercules was a hero vanquishing evil, so in truth is Jesus; putting Satan under His feet in this constellation series. He has a club in His hand, and the Bible says that he will rule with a rod of iron, Rev 2:27. Our Jesus has the power over evil, and all the works of the devil. He came to destroy the works of the devil and did so at the Cross, 1 Jn 3:8.

Leo Hydra

In the Southern sky next to Virgo (the virgin), is Leo (the lion). The lion has it's paw on the neck of Hydra (the fleeing serpent).

The constellation Virgo represents Mary, Jesus' mother. The principal star is Spica which means "the branch" which Jesus was referred to in Jeremiah.
Jer 33:15  In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.

Leo represents our LORD Jesus. The alpha star is Regulus which means "King". Jesus is known as the "Lion from the tribe of Judah".

Here is the way it looks on Stellarium.

This is how the sky constellations looks like in the area of Leo.

Hydra the serpent (Satan) is fleeing from Leo (Jesus) who has placed the neck of the serpent under his foot. Again we see the prophecy of Gn 3:15. It was customary when Israel captured kings that Israeli leaders would place their foot on their necks; a symbol of dominion and victory. Through Jesus we can tread on serpents and scorpions and all the power of the enemy, and have victory in life, Lk 10:19 Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means harm you.

The power of the LORD Jesus was prophesied in the stars to give us victory over Satan, regardless how he is portrayed; as a serpent, dragon, or sea monster. You notice that on the back of Hydra the serpent is Crater, the cup. This is the cup of the wrath of God which will be poured out on the kingdom of the son of Satan or the Anti-Christ at Armageddon. In the scriptures that describe this awesome judgment, the scavenging birds are called to eat the flesh of all who have came against God, so we see Corvus the crow representing this.

From ancient Persia there is a depiction of the Lion and the fleeing serpent.

So in this group of constellations we can see Jesus, the seed of the woman, taking authority over His enemy, Satan. In Jesus we can have authority over the devil as well. Satan's dominion is that which he stole from Adam, and the time of man's dominion is 6000 years, which is at its end.

Aries Pisces Cetus

The last constellations that I am going to cover in this series is that of Aries (the ram or lamb), Pisces (the fish or Church), and Cetus (the Sea Monster).

This is how this area of the sky looks on Stellarium with constellation art added.

Jesus here is symbolized as the Ram (or Lamb of God).
When Abraham went to sacrifice his son Isaac, on Mt. Moriah, the Angel of the Lord stopped Abraham, and there was a ram caught in a thicket by his horns. Abraham took the ram and offered it as a burnt offering instead of his own son, Isaac. Much later, God Himself would become man by sending His own son who would be the perfect sacrifice as the Lamb of God in order to take away the sins of the world. Judaism uses the ram's horn as a trumpet to proclaim special holidays. This horn represents Jesus (even though they do not recognize that), as to get the horn, you have to kill the ram. Jesus rose from the dead and became the highest power in the universe and King of Kings, that sits at the right hand of the Father.

The main stars in Aries are: Hamal- the head of the Ram or Lamb, , ancient Akkadian meaning is sacrifice of righteousness.
Arietis- horns of the ram.
El Nath- wounded, slain
Al Sheratan- bruised
Mesartim- bound

Jesus is the Lamb of God and was bound, bruised, wounded, and sacrificed to pay the ultimate price for man’s sin.

The placement by the Father of Aries in the heavens is above and over Cetus the sea monster,

Pisces is the two fish that are bound together by a cord. These represent the Old Testament and New Testament churches. The foot of Aries the ram is on the cord that controls the Churches.
The principal stars of Pisces are: Fumal Samakah- mouth of the fish,
Kullat Nunn- cord of fish,
Torcular- thread.

Cetus is the sea monster and represents Satan. The principal stars are:
Menkar- the nostril of the sea monster, chained enemy
Ceti- the nose of Cetus,
Baten Kaitus the belly of the sea monster,
Deneb Kaitos- the tail of Cetus, overthrown
Mira- rebel

Rev 20:1 ¶  And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2  And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3  And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

God describes the Leviathan as the dragon of the sea in Job 41; a powerful fire breathing dragon that no man can tame or survive the battle with; yet with Jesus he is defeated. David also talks about the Leviathan in Psalms 104. Isa 27:1  In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

The power of our LORD Jesus shall overcome the evil dragon of the sea.

As you can see in some of the older constellation art, the foot of the ram is on the cord that connects the Churches. God has delegated the power over Satan to the Church while we are still in this earth.

Jesus said, Lu 10:19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Through Jesus we can overcome in life and defeat the attacks of Satan. The Angels of the Lord encamp around us as we walk in faith in Him, Ps 91:11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12  They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13  Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
and Ps 34.

We have the power of His name, Php 2:10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. Through Jesus, we win.
God wanted the world to know, and wrote it in the stars as well as the Bible.

If you do not know the Saviour of the world, ask Jesus into your heart. God designed you with a purpose and waits for you as a Father for His child.
