New Jerusalem

God wants to move His headquarters to this planet. He loves mankind and enjoyed walking in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve and communing with them.

Adam’s fall caused problems that God could only fix by the sacrifice of His beloved and only begotten Son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus of Nazareth.

The city in which God and Jesus will eventually live in is known as the New Jerusalem and will be here, on earth.

Ezekiel sees the future when Jesus will rule in chapter 37. This description could include the New Jerusalem.

Ezekiel 37: 21  And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: 22  And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: 23  Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God. 24  And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. 25  And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever. 26  Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. 27  My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

In Ezekiel 40-48 we see the 3rd Temple described. Nothing like that has been built. It is grander than Herod’s Temple which was in Jesus time on earth and a rebuild of the 2nd Temple built during Ezra and Nehemiah. It may be that this Temple will be built during the Millennium, for in the New Jerusalem, there is no Temple. The description of the borders of Israel is close to what Israel is today.

In Ez 48:35 it says in that day the city will be called YHVH is here. This city has 12 gates named for the 12 tribes, vs 31-34.

Isaiah 66: 22  For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23  And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. 24  And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

This is revelation of the prophets of the New Jerusalem. It leaves a lot to the imagination. Some think it might look like this.

Because of the mention of those who transgressed and their worm not dying, this would imply the punishment of the lake of fire, which is in Rev 20.

Zechariah 14: 16 ¶  And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. 17  And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. 18  And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 19  This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 20  In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD’S house shall be like the bowls before the altar.

The Dead Sea Scrolls also have a New Jerusalem Scroll written by the Essenes over 2000 years ago.

But by far the most descriptive scripture of the New Jerusalem is in the Revelation of Jesus Christ to Saint John. I have studied this book for over 40 years and taught on it as well. I could not see how the description of the New Jerusalem would be possible. The size would put the earth out of balance. I know that with God all things are possible. The details are specific in the book, and I did not see this as an allegory. So I prayed and fasted and waited on the Word from the Lord. What I comment on in this teaching is what was revealed to me some time ago. God told me to teach it now.

The first mention is in Rev 3:12  Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

                                                            New Jerusalem-Vigovsky

In Rev 20 we see the end of the Millennium, Satan cast in the lake of fire, the Great White Throne Judgment, and the earth purified by the fire of God.

Rev 21: 1 ¶  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

The Bible states in several places that the Lord made the earth to stand forever; Ecc 1:4, Ps 104:5, Ps 78:69. Isa 65:17. It also says that there is a new heaven and new earth at this time. 1 Pet 3 tells of the earth and elements burning up. So how do we reconcile this? In Rev 20 we see the rebellion of mankind against Jesus and Jerusalem and the fire of God destroys them. This is the same fire of God that was a pillar of fire in the Exodus, and the fire of heaven that came to sit on the disciples on the day of Pentecost and started the Church.

John the Baptist said that Jesus would baptize us with the Holy Ghost and Fire. It is also the fire that will judge the Christian in 1 Cor 15 and burn away wood, hay, and stubble, yet purify gold, silver, and precious stones, all which are the fruits of life. This fire baptizes the earth in fire, not to destroy it, but to purify it.

The earth was born out of water, Gn 1:1, and baptized in water in the flood, Gn 6, and will be baptized in fire at the end of the Millennium to cleanse it from all evil and make it Holy for God to move here. The earth is a living thing, made by God for us to live in.

The new heaven is referring to the atmosphere which is greatly increased in size. We will discuss that later. As far as no more sea, John is talking about the “sea” he knows which is the Mediterranean and the Red Sea which John fished in for a living as well as the Sea of Galilee which is a lake. These will be pushed back hundreds of miles by the New Jerusalem. We will talk about that later as well. Be assured that to say that God will remove all the oceans is not logical, or true, for this planet is 70% water, and would not support life with no oceans.

Rev 21:2  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

The New Jerusalem is totally built outside of the earth, constructed in heaven, for it has things that do not exist on earth. We will discuss that when we come to it. It also flies, and flies here to earth through space. The bride of Christ will live there along with Jesus and Jehovah and the Holy Ghost. It is as a bride is adorned, with precious stones and gold.

3  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

The “men” here are just like Adam. There will be immortals that have a body similar to that that Jesus has, Phil 3:21. The normal people will live forever without aging, as long as they eat from the tree of life and drink of the waters of life.

4  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

No more death as compared to the way things are here and now. We know that all die, but in heaven (ie: the NJ) death is not natural. Humans will not die of old age. Immortals cannot die.

5  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

In Hebrew it would be Aleph Tav, the signature of Jesus not translated in scripture. The water of life flows abundantly from the Thrones of the Father and Son. It is the basic life force for men, animals, and plants that are here. It is free, Jesus bought it for you with His own life. No doubt that these waters are permeated with God the Holy Ghost.

7  He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

There is no escape from the lake of fire, not made for men, but for the devil and his angels, but those who reject Jesus will be thrown there as well, Rv 20:15.

9 ¶  And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife. 10  And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11  Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

The Angel calls the City the bride of the Lamb. This is because the bride lives in it. Jasper is a semi-precious stone, but not clear. Here is a most precious stone and clear, John relates this stone to Jasper because he has not seen one like it.

12  And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

The great high wall is that of natural rock, not cut into blocks. This is how God commanded the altars to be made, by nature’s own natural form. The Angels are there to guard and to monitor who enters the City. The gates have the tribes of Israel engraved on them, only fitting as “Salvation is of the Jews”, as Jesus said. All that we know about God was preserved by Israel. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph were all Jews. All of the Apostles are Jews, with two converts.

13  On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

Here are the stones and the names of the Children of Israel that will be on the gates:

14  And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

We see that the foundations of the City are named for the Apostles. This is only fitting as they are the ones who spread the Gospel of Jesus around the world.

15  And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 16  And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

Some have suggested that the New Jerusalem is a sphere which has the same height, width, and length.

                                                                New Jerusalem-Shorsher

Others say it is a perfect cube, similar to the Holy of Holies, with 12000 furlongs being a number of Divine Government.

Usually it is shown as a golden cube.

Some say that the New Jerusalem has been seen by the Hubble Telescope.

Here is what I was shown.

12,000 furlongs is 1500 miles. The height measurement is from the center courtyard to the top of the walls.

The walls are 900 miles above ground level. The foundations extend into the earth for 600 miles in 50 mile steps, high and wide,  that resemble an upside down pyramid with the courtyard at the center.

In space and flight it will probably have shields on the top and look something like this:

When the New Jerusalem comes down from Heaven, it will go into the earth.

Side view of walls and foundations showing height and depth as 1500 mi.

Remember the walls are natural rock, that John describes as Jasper, clear as crystal looking from the outside. They ascend for 900 miles from ground level.

Top view looking down ward with the 50 mile wide and deep 12 foundations with the courtyard at the center.

How it would be visualized in the earth, but you would not be able to see over the walls. The displacement of earth and stone, and whatever God determines will counter balance the planet to keep the spin constant and true.

The courtyard contains God’s palace, the Thrones of the Lord and Jesus from which proceed the rivers of life, and the trees of life growing on the sides of the rivers. There are other buildings, like the assembly hall, and central station. The courtyard is 900 sq miles.

Trees and rivers of life that flow from the thrones of God.

The new atmosphere (heaven) is 1000 miles, or 10 times what our atmosphere is now. This means that the top of the walls will still be in the atmosphere. This is similar to how the canopy was before the great flood of Noah when men lived more than 900 years. Now they will live forever. The blue sky will be a darker blue, like Jesus’ color as in the tallit, Nu 15:38. God told me that very few comets and asteroids would make it through this large atomosphere to the earth.

Rev 21:17  And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

144 cubits is 246’, the thickness of the walls. The dwellings are in the walls and are 246’ square, or 60,516 sq ft, or 1.4 acres. Jesus said that in my Father’s house are many mansions. There are 12,165,120,000 dwellings in the walls. These are for the Immortals and there are special floors for Angels.

People have lived in walls throughout history, but nothing as nice as God is preparing for us.

                                                                          Jordan

                                                                              Petra

                                                                              Jericho

18  And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

From the outside, the natural walls look like Jasper with a clear coat. From the inside they look like translucent gold. This translucent gold is not known on earth. All of the streets and any buildings that are along them are also made of gold.

19  And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20  The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

These stones are similar in some ways to the stones in the High Priest’s breast plate which was 12 stones, one for each tribe, and representing their Mazzaroth sign as well. These are according to Ex 28: Sardius, Topaz, Carbuncle, Emerald, Sapphire, Diamond, Ligure, Agate, Amethyst, Beryl, Onyx, Jasper.

But, the foundations of the New Jerusalem are representing the 12 Apostles. 5 of the stones in the New Jerusalem foundations are not found on the breastplate.

I believe that Judas was replaced with Paul who was picked by Jesus and wrote half of the New Testament. So the representation of the Apostles are: Jasper-Peter

                                                                        Emerald-John
                                                                 Sardonyx-James the less

                                                                        Sardius-Phillip

                                                                  Chrysolite-Bartholomew
                                                                         Beryl-Thomas

                                                                       Topaz-Matthew

                                                                  Chrysoprasus-Jude

                                                            Jacinth-Simon the Cannanite

Amethyst-Paul.

Each foundation step is 50 miles wide and contains every kind of diverse forest known on earth.

There may be some new ones as well as the City is constructed in Heaven.

Then there is a step down of 50 miles that will have water falls to return water to its source in the courtyard.

There are deserts in the foundation steps too.

The cycle of the water of life feeds all life in the City and for those who enter in to worship.

Then it returns to the courtyard and is recycled from God’s thrones.

The touch of the Father and Son gives this water of life their own Divine energy through the Holy Spirit which all that live on the earth may come and drink and have unending life and health. Everything in the City is perfect.

The streets of gold all lead to the courtyard and through the steps from the pearl gates. There will be shops, inns, and places to repose along the streets, because from each pearl gate to the courtyard center is 750 miles and humans will still get tired.

There may be “heavenly transportation” to get there faster, but time is not an issue and no one will be in a hurry to leave. The size of this City is too big to see from one side to the other, or from ground level to see the top of the wall. The Palace and Thrones can be seen because light comes from them for the City.

Angel shows John the New Jerusalem.

1500 miles square takes up a lot of land as you can see by this imprint of the New Jerusalem on the USA.

Here is the footprint of the New Jerusalem with the N S E W walls 350 miles from present Jerusalem.

You can see that that the Mediterranian and Red Seas and part of the Black Sea are pushed back considerably. There is a lot of History here, Mt. Sinai, Israel's camps, Rock of Horeb, the Golden Calf Altar, and the Sea of Gallilee to name a few. Perhaps God will preserve them within the City.

21  And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

As already mentioned, this transparent gold is not found on earth, nor is a 12’ diameter pearl which would have to come out of a very large oyster. They came from heaven or another planet. The streets all lead from the gates to the Courtyard.

Artist's glimpse through a pearl gate.

The old Jerusalem gates looked like this today:

Here is the inscription of the Lion's gate.

The New Jerusalem King is at the right hand of the Father and the Lion from the Tribe of Judah, who has baptised His own with His fire.

22  And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

There is no need of a Temple to worship God when you live with Him; or in the case of the humans, when you can worship directly in front of God.

This confirms that Ezekiel’s Temple is during the Millennium and not in the New Jerusalem.

The Temple at the time of Jesus was rebuilt by Herod the Great at great cost and 40 years time.

But, in our New Jerusalem, we will worship God the Father and God the Son face to face and behold His awesome glory.

What John, Isaiah, and Ezekiel saw in Heaven and were overwhelmed by their vision.

Who we will see in our new home, the New Jerusalem.

23  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

The power of God is so awesome! It says that the City itself did not need the sun or moon because of the light of God, however the rest of the earth does. Scripture does not say that the sun and the moon were gone.

As with the seas, understand that human and other life could not exist on the earth without the sun.

24  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 25  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

This confirms Isaiah and Zechariah’s prophecies that all will come to worship God in the City and if they don’t, it does not rain in their part of the earth; quick retribution for dissobedience. Again this shows that the weather/water is still active on the earth. The New Jerusalem has its own weather system that starts and recycles to God’s Thrones.

27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

The Angels at the gates are guards and only allow those who are born again to enter the City, either humans who visit or the Immortals that reside there.

Rev 22: 1 ¶  And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

The Immortals have bodies similar to Jesus, Phil 3:21. They do not age, cannot be killed, eat what they want, remain 25 years old, can fly, can walk through walls, and rule with Christ to keep the peace. The humans will not age, and as long as they eat from the tree of life and drink of the water of life every month. There is no disease there, but humans can hurt themselves. The leaves of the tree of life are to heal those type of injuries.

When the human population reaches capacity of around 10 billion, There will be colonization of other planets. The growth of the humans, made in the image of God, will never end. The universe is a big place for that reason. God cannot get enough communion with His created, this is done through the body and blood of Jesus (communion) and prayer, of which God can hear and respond to an infinite number of His children at once. He craves this; His will be done.

3  And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

The earth will produce abundantly, always.

4  And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

This is similar to the ancient High Priests who had a gold band on their forehead attached to the Mitre that read “Holiness to the Lord”.

5  And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

These servants are the Immortals. The Immortals are like God’s Knights and keep the peace and enforce God’s Word. They are attached to the Father/Son by the Holy Ghost and have God’s authority and power to be Kings and Priests. They are at one with the Trinity.

6 ¶  And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. 7  Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. 8  And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9  Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

I wonder which prophet this was.

10  And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11  He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Realize that when Jesus ascended into Heaven after His resurrection, He took the Old Testament Saints with Him, Mt 27:52-53, Eph 4. These have been made immortal. When Jesus returns for His Church at the Rapture, all the believers since Jesus will be raised from the dead and made immortal, then those who are alive will be changed to an immortal and not experience death. (See my blog on Resurrection, Rapture, and Rescue)

Humans do not die very often on the earth during this time, only in accidents, and possibly battle. If they are born again in Jesus, they will become immortal. Jesus is God and the Saviour of mankind no matter how many and how long into infinity. If they are not in Christ they will be judged by the law of God, just like now.

15  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Referring to those in the lake of fire, which may possibly be in view.

Dogs here are referring to those who do not follow God. But, while here, there will be animals in Heaven and the future Heaven, the New Jerusalem. We know that some are mentioned; horses, ox, eagle, and lion. I believe that we will have pets that we have owned, and that there will be other animals in the City. During the millennium there will be animals, and they will all eat plants, no violence, no killing. Jesus rules the earth then, and will rule under the Father in the New Jerusalem. Therefore I believe the earth will have animals, and also the New Jerusalem.

16  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. 18  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 ¶  He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

And so the Bible ends here and infinity begins. This book contains blessings for just reading it, and changes the way that you think about the future and who you are in Christ. This enables you to act as a Child of the King and do that which pleases God. Revelation speaks of God making us to be Kings and Priests, 1:6, 5:10.

Rv 1:3 ¶  Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

If you have Christ in you, the City will be your eternal home. The most important decision you will ever make is to become a child of the Living God.

Scriptures are from the KJV. Pictures and art are from the Internet, with no infringment intended. Computer drawings of the New Jerusalem were done my me.
